The modernization program team has finished the first stage of the resources and assets management system for both the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

These two systems will be completed by the end of 2018. The ministry is also planning to set up a comprehensive information system and communication network linking all entities of the petroleum sector to help deliver Egypt’s Sustainable Development Strategy (Vision 2030).

The new communication system aims to link holding companies and their subsidiaries, facilitating communication and information exchange. It will also help in making daily reports and production data available and up-to-date.

As a first step toward better communication and transparency in the sector, the ministry has launched a communication gate for the sector’s employees.

Commenting on this during his meeting with program officials, Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla said that the ministry is working to optimize the role of technology to modernize the sector.
