Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has met with the CEO of Baker Hughes Lorenzo Simonelli to discuss the company’s projects in Egypt, especially in oil and gas as well as plans for developing its business in energy transition, emissions reduction, flare gas recovery and diversifying the resources of energy in addition to its plan to provide sustainable supplies of fuel to the local market.
The minister affirmed that the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) is working on the development and that it has implemented several incentives and procedures to increase petroleum and mineral production.
Simonelli emphasized Baker Hughes’ support for developing the petroleum sector and its agreement with the ministry’s vision to provide cleaner and safer energy at a reasonable price, especially in the natural gas industry.
He noted that Baker Hughes works on providing all the necessary technologies to support increasing production rates, as well.
The CEO also praised the ministry’s path to overcome obstacles, reduce the required procedures, and provide flexibility for diversifying energy resources and providing digital solutions through the Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG) which provides distinguished investment opportunities by offering international bid rounds and facilitating the response to all inquiries about them.
