Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has met with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi to review several important topics related to the petroleum sector.
During the meeting, they discussed the status of imported natural gas shipments to meet the needs of the electricity sector for petroleum products.
Additionally, Badawi explained the exerted efforts by the foreign partners to increase the production of petroleum products during the coming period. He discussed the progress of paying arrears to the petroleum sector’s partners, which will help intensify research and exploration efforts.
In this context, Badawi affirmed the support provided by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) to the exploration and production in Egypt, besides attracting investments in different fields, including the mining sector.
Badawi emphasized the ongoing support from oil and gas companies and the aim to overcome any challenges, highlighting the focus on maximizing the use of new technologies to increase production.
Furthermore, he highlighted that coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy is a priority for the MoPMR to provide the fuel needed for operating electricity stations.
He also mentioned that coordination with foreign partners to pay the late dues is a priority for the ministry to attract more investments and increase the production of oil and gas as soon as possible, in addition to accelerating the exploration and production programs.
