McDermott’s subsidiary CB&I has secured a contract valued between $10-$50 million for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of two 10-million-liter diesel tanks and associated civil, structural, mechanical, and piping works. The project is part of a diesel tank replacement project at Viva Energy’s Newport Terminal in Melbourne, Australia.
The project will be managed from CB&I’s Brisbane office, with additional engineering and fabrication support provided by their Thailand office. This approach ensures that the project benefits from CB&I’s global expertise and local knowledge, McDermott said on Monday.
“CB&I continues to show its strength in the region with this latest project award,” said Mark Butts, Senior Vice President of CB&I.
“It is just one of several projects we have been selected to deliver for Viva Energy over the years. CB&I’s proven history of delivering projects in Australia with a focus on the highest quality and safety standards were differentiators between us and our competitors,” Butts added.
Construction on the Newport Terminal Tank Replacement Project is set to begin in 2024, with completion expected in late 2025.
