Marubeni Corporation, which leads a Japanese-Omani consortium, was selected by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to construct a 105 megawatt (MW) solar-powered plant in Oman, Oman Observer reported.
the Marubeni-led consortium inked the power purchase agreement (PPA) with PDO for producing the 105 MW Amin photovoltaic project in the south of Oman.
The 23-year PPA will enable the consortium to develop, construct operate and maintain the 105 MW solar plant. The project’s commercial operation date is projected for May 2020.
The project will mark Marubeni’s the second power project in the sultanate, which comes in line with the company’s plan to expand its activities in the renewable energy sector around the world.
