Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has held a meeting to follow up on efforts to provide the petroleum products needed to operate power stations.
The meeting was attended by Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; and Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the purpose of holding this meeting periodically is to ensure the availability of various petroleum materials necessary to operate power stations.
Madbouly highlighted efforts to increase the volume of production of petroleum products in an effort to reduce the import bill.
During the meeting, Madbouly confirmed that the required funding had been secured to meet the necessary needs of petroleum product to ensure the availability of services to various sectors, despite many geopolitical challenges.
Badawi highlighted the need to take advanced steps to pay the arrears of foreign partners, which would contribute to encouraging them to pump more investments into this promising sector during the coming period.
