Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting to discuss various industry-related matters of significant importance with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, and other Egyptian officials.
The meeting touched on important topics, including efforts to meet local needs for petroleum materials through production and exploration activities, maximizing the utilization of petroleum resources to create added value for the national economy, as well as the targets and policies for achieving a breakthrough in the mining sector and enhancing its value.
Additionally, the meeting addressed renewable energy as an essential part of the state’s plan to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development; where the coordination and work axes between the concerned authorities were discussed to provide an energy mix that drives the growth of the Egyptian economy and supports the utilization of Egypt’s location for hydrogen production and energy trade.
The meeting further reviewed work files that included those related to enhancing regional cooperation to attract investments in Egypt and the region, as well as efforts to create an attractive investment environment while maintaining the element of ‘energy consumption efficiency’ and reducing emissions.
Moreover, the meeting followed up on natural gas and crude oil production rates, as well as production and exploration plans in the Mediterranean Sea.
