Egypt’s consumption of diesel decreased 0.9% to 1.165 million tons in July 2017, compared to 1.176 million tons in the same period of 2016, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
Meanwhile, diesel production increased to 627,000 tons in July 2017 from 556,000 tons in July 2016, a 12.77% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase, according to the information published by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
Despite the lower Y-o-Y figure, 1.165 million tons still represents a slight uptick in consumption compared to the average consumption rate this year.
Diesel consumption has fallen by approximately 8% throughout 2017. Consumption has equaled an average of 1.1 million tons per month, compared to 1.2 million tons per month in 2016, Amwal Al Ghad reports.
