Khalda Petroleum Company Chairman Saeed Abdel Moneim has visited the Abu El Gharadig field in the Western Desert to follow up on the operation of Rig 58 and the workflow of maintenance on the wellhead. During the drilling of the exploratory well WD-9-E1X, the unconsolidated surface sand layers beneath the wellhead subsided by 2 feet.

Occupational safety and health requirements and rules were implemented by halting work immediately to ensure the safety of the on-site workers and the drilling rig. Consultants were brought to inspect the site and carry out immediate repair work.

On this occasion, Abdel Moneim stressed the importance of occupational safety while on-site work is in progress.
