Khalda Petroleum Presents Nine Research Papers about E&P at MOC 2024

Under the leadership of Saeed Abdel Moneim, Chairman of Khalda Petroleum, the company presented nine research papers on exploration and operations during the technical sessions of the MOC 2024 Conference. These papers highlighted key topics, showcasing Khalda’s expertise and commitment to supporting scientific research and fostering the exchange of knowledge and experience.

The first day of the conference witnessed the discussion of the research papers “Detection of deep Paleozoic reservoir sands using seismic features to identify their distribution signature on new broadband seismic data, a case study from the IO gas field, offshore Shushan, northern Western Desert, Egypt”, “The power of seismic data in tracking dolomite in the El Alamein reservoir, Khabri field, Shushan Basin, northern Western Desert, Egypt” and “Machine Learning in the Petroleum Industry – Well Cleanup Operations After Hydraulic Stimulation with the Help of Machine Learning for Wellhole Pressure Prediction”.

During the second day, Abdel Moneim participated in chairing the committee responsible for discussing research papers, where the company presented three research papers titled; “The problem and solution of asphaltene precipitation in light oil: an applied study in the Western Desert”, “Evaluation of the potential for carbon dioxide storage and use as a secondary catalyst to enhance crude oil production in the East Offshore field, Western Desert”, “Development of Cretaceous sandstone reservoirs in the Menes-nu fields using a different set of geological data” and “A large-scale development plan for a multi-layer field using rig modeling and analytical techniques resulted in a significant increase in production and recovery coefficient in the Western Desert of Egypt.”

While the third day, Khalda took part with another three papers including; “Advanced Forecasting of Sand Production Initiation Using Data Analytics and Machine Learning Techniques – Insights from Gas Wells in the Adriatic Sea, “Optimizing water injection to fractured natural carbonate reservoir – Forming a descriptive model to achieve optimal reservoir management – Deep field expertise”, and “Technical Feasibility Assessment of Water Injection Project in Sandstone Aquifer – Case Study in Western Desert – Egypt”.
