Jordan’s JPMC Launches Natural Gas Pipeline to Supply its Industrial Complex

The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) announced the launch of a main natural gas pipeline to feed the industrial complex affiliated to the company, a press release stated.

This came within the framework of the agreement signed by JPMC with the Jordanian-Egyptian Fajr company and Egypt Gas to supply the industrial complex with 1.37 billion cubic feet per year (bcf/d).

The Minister of Energy, Hala Zawati, said that this is a great achievement, referring to the state’s strategy which includes the directive towards using natural gas as it is important in reducing costs by 25% to 55%. She also referred  to several exemptions granted for the infrastructures that supports natural gas usage.
