Basra Gas Company (BGC) plans to increase its production level to reach 1.05 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) by the end of 2018, Reuters reported on November 29.
The output will increase by 150 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) from its current level, Iraq’s oil ministry said in statement.
Basra gas projects aim to achieve its target of capturing and processing 2 bcf/d, the statement said.
The project was designed to collect gas from the south fields including West Qurna 1, Zubair, and Rumaila.
The $17 billion BGC is a joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell and Mitsubishi.
