Iraq has completed repairs at the Ajil oil field which was torched by Islamic State militants in 2015, the country’s oil minister said on October 9, Reuters reported.
Minister Jabar al-Luiabi said that the field, located in Salahuddin province, is now producing 7,000 barrels per day (b/d). Output is expected to increase to 17,000 b/d by the end of the year.
The field has also been producing up to 100 million cubic feet of gas per day since the last round of repairs, Luiabi added.
