Iraq Approves $4.6B Basrah-Haditha Oil Pipeline Project

The Iraqi cabinet has approved a 44.56 billion Basrah-Haditha oil pipeline. The 685 km pipeline will have a capacity of 2.25 million barrels per day (bbl/d).

In August, the oil ministry proposed a pipeline to transport crude to the country’s central and southern regions.

The project is being developed by state-backed Basra Oil Company and Oil Projects Company, and funded under the Iraq-China agreement

Notably, Iraq’s current oil output stands at about 4 million bbl/d.
