The Iraqi cabinet has approved a 44.56 billion Basrah-Haditha oil pipeline. The 685 km pipeline will have a capacity of 2.25 million barrels per day (bbl/d).
In August, the oil ministry proposed a pipeline to transport crude to the country’s central and southern regions.
The project is being developed by state-backed Basra Oil Company and Oil Projects Company, and funded under the Iraq-China agreement
Notably, Iraq’s current oil output stands at about 4 million bbl/d.
