The CEO of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company Morteza Shahmirzaei announced that it plans to increase petrochemical feedstock supply by more than double, from an equivalent of 1.1 million barrels per day (mmbbl/d) to 2.6 mmbbl/d by 2030, Shana news agency reported.
Shahmirzaei elaborated that the annual capacity of the petrochemical industry is 90 million tons, which will reach about 200 million tons by the end of the eighth development plan to 2030.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company added that the doubling of petrochemical feedstock volume will help scale up the production of high value-added products.
Shahmirzaei also emphasized the importance of providing infrastructure, preserving the environment, considering social responsibility, and specialized training to achieve the development goals of the petrochemical industry.
He highlighted that social investments of petrochemical companies must focus on reducing discrimination.
