Iran’s NIDC Allocates $123 million to Upgrade Drilling Rigs

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) allocated $123.8 million for upgrading and renovating its drilling rigs and equipment across its operational, technical, specialized, and logistical departments, Tehran times reported quoting Shana.
The company’s Director of Renovation and Upgrading Shahram Shamipour said that these upgrades aim to enhance the performance of these rigs, which are included in the Iran’s development projects.
Shamipour also noted that NIDC will sign deals with local companies for developing equipment related to drilling rigs, technical services, transportation, special services, tools in circulation, and safety, health, and environment.
He added that the company has already spent $30.95 million through signing eight deals in this regard. Currently, NIDC owns 70 light, heavy and super-heavy drilling rigs; 67 of which are onshore rigs and the remainder three are offshore rigs.
