According to data released by the Energy Institute (EI), Iran’s natural gas exports has reached 18.9 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2022, increasing by 9% compared to 17.3 bcm in 2021, IRNA reported.
This is the equivalent of 51.8 million cubic meters per day (mmcm/d) of exports, representing 2.5% of the world’s natural gas trade through the pipeline last year.
The figure is more than four times the average growth rate in the global trade of natural gas, the EI discussed.
Iran’s total exports involved 9.4 bcm directed to Iraq, another 9.1 bcm to Turkey and some 0.4 bcm to Azerbaijan.
