Infinity Solar Company plans to complete a 130 MW solar power plant during Q1 2019, Daily News Egypt reported.
The project will be finalized within the feet in tariff (FiT) program’s second phase.
Infinity Solar successfully secured 85% of the finance from a German bank while the local component was funded by the Arab African International Bank, HR Director Hisham El Gamal stated.
The solar station’s project will be completed in cooperation with German’s IB Vogt Company, El Gamal added.
Infinity Solar is also developing a 100 MW wind facility at Zaafarana in order to support the government’s renewable energy program, a source at Infinity Solar told Amwal Al Ghad.
Solar and wind projects form a key component of the government’s strategy to generate 20% renewable energy by 2022, an important step towards achieving the state’s sustainable energy program for 2035.
