Italian oil firm, Eni, anticipates extracting gas from the Bahr Essalam Field in 2018, according to Page One.
Claudio Descalzi, Eni’s CEO, recently met with the CEO of Libya’s National Oil Company (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla, to discuss the second phase of the development of the Bahr Essalam Field. Out of the ten wells to be drilled as part of Phase II, nine have already been drilled, OE reports
The Bahr Essalam Field is just over 100 km off the Libyan coast. It is one of the largest gas reservoirs in Libya and is managed by a consortium between NOC and Eni North Africa called Mellitah Oil & Gas.
