Fuel Resumes to Normal Pumping Rate

Fuel Resumes to Normal Pumping Rate

The rate of fuel being pumped into the market will bounce back to 20 million liters a day, after it has been increased with almost 10% to reach 25 million liters during Eid al-Adha, official sources in the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) told Amwal Al Ghad.

The sources added that the rates of gasoline being pumped into the market will fall to 20 million liters per day, instead of 25 million liters during Eid.

EGPC will also decrease the diesel’s rate with %8-%10 to reach 50 million liters instead of 55 million liters.

The last period witnessed an increase in the fuel and diesel reserves across Egypt to face and fulfil any increase in demand, especially in upper Egypt, the sources added.

The sources also pointed out that the refineries’ production capacity reached 38 million tons a year, which serves the governmental sectors’ demand along with foreign investments to cover the petroleum products’ shortage in the market.
