Fajr Egypt Boosts Jordan’s Electricity

The Chairman of Fajr Egypt company, Mohamed El Shorbagy, showcased the company’s 2019 achievements and its contribution inside and outside the country, noting that its subsidiary, the Egyptian Jordanian Fajr Natural Gas, has reinforced natural gas usage in Jordan, where 90% of electricity generation now depends on natural gas, a press release reported.

Natural gas inside Jordan was boosted through the natural gas grid and its related facilities of a length of 500 kilometer to supply 11 electric stations as well as the other industries with the needed natural gas.

El Shorbagy added that the company finalized the new supplying point for the main natural gas line in the north of Jordon before its deadline, which operates under BOOT system and has a length of 56 kilometer. This was done through the coordination and integration with the Engineering Company for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENNPI), Petrojet, and Egypt Gas

Moreover, the Jordanian Fajr Egypt signed several agreements with Jordan’s Ministries of Energy and Mineral Resources and Electricity to encourage the industrial activities using natural gas.

El Shorbagy’s remarks came during the general assembly meeting of the company headed by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla and attended by number of senior officials in the petroleum sector.

From his side, El Molla confirmed the importance of the continuous excellent projects provided by the company stressing on the full care for developing its cadres. He also praised the professional performance of the Egyptian petroleum cadres in the mutual projects with Jordan as well as the efficient implementation of the plans of Jordan’s Ministry of Energy to expand the utilization of natural gas as an alternative fuel.
