EUG Holds Technical Workshop on Accelerating Exploration, Production

The Egypt Exploration Gateway (EUG) team organized a technical workshop titled ‘EUG: Choosing Opportunities to Accelerate Research and Exploration and Increase Production Rates.’

The workshop aimed to shed light on the most important achievements and successes achieved by the project team over the past year and a half, as well as identify the current projects and future plans for marketing and promoting research and exploration areas globally. The workshop was attended by representatives of major international companies working in the field of oil and gas.

The workshop started with an inaugural session initiated by Mohamed Mohy, Executive Vice President of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) for Agreements and Exploration, who stated that EUG is one of the fruits of the Modernization program. It is in line with the sector’s digitalization vision due to its advanced technologies that facilitated the availability of all geological and geophysical data, project data and facilities available in the areas of research, exploration and development and auction areas. This was done through a national data bank to contribute to encouraging and attracting new investments and promoting exploration and research areas.

Anastasia Poole, Digital & Integration Manager at Schlumberger, indicated that the cooperation between the petroleum sector and Schlumberger since its inception has been constructive, and has had a positive impact on the petroleum industry, especially in the field of digitization and advanced solutions. She noted that the launch of Egypt’s digital portal for exploration and production, EUG, is a strong example of this successful partnership and a product of the sustainable development efforts pursued by Egypt in all activities and fields.

Poole also confirmed that this project represents a modern qualitative leap in the mechanisms of marketing petroleum investment opportunities through an integrated digital portal for the activity of research, exploration, and production of oil and gas resources, which was implemented with the assistance of Schlumberger, which has the expertise and advanced technological solutions.
