Head of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Committee at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR), Gamal Fathy, accompanied by Salah Riyad, the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company’s (ECHEM) Chairman Assistant for HSE, made an inspection visit to the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) in Alexandria.
The visit is part of a broader effort to monitor production sites, ensuring the effectiveness of the safety system and enhancing awareness among workers on-site.
During the visit, Hesham Riyad, ETHYDCO Chairman, presented a review of the company’s various activities and projects to support and develop the safety and process safety system, in addition to implementing environmental compatibility projects.
He emphasized ETHYDCO’s commitment to implementing the rules of HSE, with a focus on the effective implementation of life-preserving rules and the basics of process safety as a first priority for safe operation, which leads to the sustainability of production processes and then increases production.
Moreover, he explained the application of digital transformation techniques in the system through the application of the electronic business permit program E-Permit, and the application of the Action Tracker program to follow up on observations related to occupational safety, process safety, and other digital systems.
Meanwhile, Hany Tawfek, Occupational Health and Safety & Performance Standards (OHS & PS) General Manager at ETHYDCO, gave a presentation on the company’s current activities and projects in safety and process safety, which confirm the vision of the Ministry of Petroleum and the procedures issued by it in this field.
