EOG Technical Committee Lays Out Upstream Convention Agenda

The Egypt Oil & Gas (EOG) Technical Committee has gathered at Shell Egypt on Wednesday, September 4th to discuss the agenda of the Upstream Technical Convention, which has been confirmed by the Ministry of Petroleum to take place from December 8-10, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

As part of the Egyptian oil and gas sector’s modernization program, the convention will tackle improving brownfield performance. Abstracts for the technical workshop were submitted on the September 1st, with a new record of 72 abstracts.

The Technical Committee has set up the agenda for the Young Professionals Day. Young professionals from oil and gas companies shall share their success stories. Moreover, new ways to engage and attract young professionals to participate and be a part of the strategic panels have been discussed.

The strategic panels will be in line with the Brownfield Subcommittee’s White Paper, which suggested strategic solutions to enhance brownfields in Egypt’s and was presented to the Ministry of Petroleum on July 17th.  The main focuses of the strategic panels will be; enhancing brownfield’s technology, enhancing sector’s competitiveness, optimizing human capacity, and improving planning and decision-making.

The EOG CSR Subcommittee announced that it is working on developing an educational initiative focusing on quick-wins and long-term benefits. The initiative aims to engage students from several universities and develop a curriculum from the resources of different oil and gas companies. Furthermore, the initiative is to be linked to the future of education in schools in associations with INJAZ.
