For the fourth consecutive year, Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENPPI) won the Middle East Economic Digest(MEED)’s  Project of the Year Award 2025 for the energy sector in Egypt. The prize honours ENPPI’s work on the North Safa Offshore Field Development Project, executed for the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO).

The North Safa project placed ENPPI on the list of the top six energy projects across the entire Middle East, competing against more than 360 entries. This high recognition highlights the company’s technological creativity, engineering excellence, innovation, and sustainability. It positions ENPPI alongside major international Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies operating in the region.

Furthermore, the project is an advanced model for implementing offshore projects in the Egyptian petroleum sector, designed to maximize the utilization of reserves exceeding 100 million barrels. This directly supports national efforts to increase oil production.

The offshore platform features nine wells: four for oil production, two for water injection, and three slated for future use. The project transfers oil production to the Ramadan 6 offshore platform via a 10 km, 12-inch subsea pipeline. Water injection is managed through an 11 km, 8-inch pipeline originating from the July 10 offshore platform.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MOPMR) praised ENPPI for its achievement, noting that it reflects the company’s constant commitment to excellence and innovation, and reinforces its position as a leading firm in engineering and construction within the energy sector, as stated in the ministry’s announcement.

The MEED Projects Awards celebrate the highest-quality projects delivered across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The awards ceremony, organized by the MEED magazine, began in 2007. The awards recognize the best projects in categories ranging from Oil & Gas and Power Generation to Infrastructure and Social Impact.
