Eni Starts Production from Ndungu EP Development Project

Eni announced that it has started production from the Ndungu Early Production (EP) development project located in Block 15/06 of the Angolan deep offshore, via the Ngoma Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.

This start-up reflects close cooperation between Eni Angola and Agência Nacional de Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis (ANPG) and partners to create value on Block 15/06.

According to the statement, the Ndungu Early Production project is expected to produce at the rate of 20,000 barrels of oil per day (bbl/d). It will maintain the plateau of the Ngoma which will produce a 100,000 bbl/d zero-discharge and zero-process flaring FPSO upgraded in 2021 to reduce emissions, which is in line with Eni’s decarbonization strategy.

The company said also that it will conduct a further exploration and delineation campaign in H1 of 2022 aiming to assess the full potential of the overall asset of Ndungu.

It should be noted that Block 15/06 is operated by Eni Angola with a 36.84% share. Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção (36.84%) and SSI Fifteen Limited (26.32%) compose the rest of the joint venture.
