Eni gas e luce, Be Charge Sign Agreement for Electric Mobility Transition

Eni gas e luce, which is a subsidiary of Eni company, has signed an agreement with Be Charge company for developing the charging infrastructure for electric mobility. This came as a part of Eni’s decarbonization and energy transition strategy, a press release reported.

According to the agreement, Be Charge will install co-branded public charging stations for electric vehicles across the country. These charging station will be supplied by renewable energy produced from Eni gas e luce.

According to the statement, starting form March 2021, all electric cars owners will benefit from a 50% discount on the first charge at the stations using Be Charge application in addition to further benefits that will be granted for Eni gas e luce customers.

Alberto Chiarini, CEO of Eni gas e luce, commented: “Through this partnership, we want to allow electric cars owners to recharge their cars wherever they are, even if they are away from home or from their office. Our focus is to promote sustainable mobility, a key element for the energy transition and which we want to contribute through the deployment of charging systems and infrastructure for their management. In addition, we will provide the Be Charge charging points with electricity from 100% renewable sources”.

For his part, Paolo Martini, CEO of Be Charge, said: “The partnership is a further step toward a consolidation of our expansion strategy. 2021 already saw a significant increase in recharging points in the area, the installation of more powerful charging infrastructure and openness to electric mobility without borders in other European countries too”.
