Eni, BP Upgraded Baltim Field to 1tcf Gas Production

Italian Eni and UK’s BP upgraded the potential production of Baltim South West field in Egypt, to be 1tcf of gas, after the results of the Baltim South West 2X appraisal well that was drilled after the successful drilling of the discovery well Baltim South West 1X, reported OE Digital.

Eni stated that the new output projections have boosted the gas potential of the Great Nooros Area to an estimated 3tcf of gas , 2tcf of which in the Nooros field, reported Al Ahram News.

Egypt’s Baltim South West field is located in the conventional waters of the Nile Delta, in 25m water depth, about 12km from the coastline and 10km from the Nooros field. Eni owns 50% of the field through its subsidiary, Italian Egyptian Oil Company (IEOC),  along with BP which owns the remaining 50% of the field’s assets. The operator of the field is Petrobel, a joint venture between IEOC and the state company Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).
