Energean, EGPC JV Signs iEPCI Contract with TechnipFMC

Energean company announced that Abu Qir Petroleum company, its joint venture (JV) with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), has signed an integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract with TecnhipFMC company for developing four subsea wells as well as subsea tie-back to the Abu Qir Petroleum plant, according to a press release.

The statement elaborated that three of these wells will be drilled in North El Amriya (NEA) concession which is operated by Petroamriya, while the fourth one will be located in the North Idku (NI) concession which is operated by North Idku Petroleum Company (Nipetco).

On this occasion, Energean’s Country Manger in Egypt, Nicolas Katcharov, expressed his contentment with this contract, considering this project a significant development that will provide substantial benefits to Energean’s production profile in Egypt.

“It is also opening a new perspective for the near-field exploration in the Egypt Nile Delta offshore,” Katcharov added.

For his part, President Subsea at TechnipFMC, Jonathan Landes commented “This project award showcases TechnipFMC’s position as the market and technology leader for integrated projects globally and demonstrates the benefits of our iEPCI solution for subsea developments.”
