The East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) held its 7th Ministerial Meeting to discuss important issues and key outcomes of the EMGF initiatives and activities.
Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Natasa Pilides commented on the EMGF’s significant role saying that “the forum does have a crucial role to play, I think that is especially evident in today’s environment with geopolitical and energy demand, challenges, being at the center of everyone’s attention.”
“It is crucial for the organization to be a front runner, not only in correctly analyzing the situation and its potential impact, but also in finding appropriate solutions, which can actually elevate the organization’s importance and bring it from the regional front to the global front as a player that offers workable solutions not just to the EU, but to other markets as well,” Pilides noted.
On the energy mix Pilides said that “diversifying energy sources and roots are of course a very important and crucial part of our strategy now with everything that’s happening, whilst at the same time we need to save guard the moment of the green transition and not forget our zero-emissions goal for 2050 for Europe”.
