Egypt’s electricity production increased by 13.53%, recording 15.1 megawatts per hour (MWh) in January 2019, compared to 13.3 MWh in January 2018, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
Statistics published by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that Egypt’s electricity consumption slightly dropped by 0.83%, recording 11.9 MWh in January 2019, compared to the same month a year earlier.
The residential sector consumed the largest portion of the country’s electricity in January 2019, using 4.7 MWh, which account for 39.5% of the country’s total consumption.
The industrial sector used 30.3% of the country’s total electricity consumption with 3.6 MWh, representing the country’s second largest electricity consumer.
