The Egyptian Linear Alkyl Benzene (ELAB) has assigned Petroleum Safety and Environmental Services company (PetroSafe) to implement a flaring gas monitoring project using the monitoring system developed by Baker Hughes.
This project represents a remarkable step in reducing the harmful effects of emissions on human beings and the environment in addition to the major economic benefits, according to the statement.
The project is part of the efforts made by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to implement flaring gas emissions reduction projects in several petroleum sites as Egypt will host and lead the COP 27 summit next November.
Monitoring flaring gas is the first phase of identifying the amounts of emissions and understanding how it is produced and distributed.
