El Sisi Urges Connecting 1.4 M Households to National Gas Grid

Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El Sisi, urged Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, to ensure that oil and gas firms connect 1.4 million households to the national gas grid in 2018, Al Mal News reported.

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has connected approximately 8.3 million households from across the country to the national natural gas grid, Amwal Al Ghad reported.

The ministry announced that it prioritizes improving the services provided to citizens on a continuous basis, whether by providing different petroleum products through warehouses, or by delivering natural gas to residential units. The ministry connected a total of 580,000 households in fiscal year (FY) 2016/2017, including households in cities and villages in new regions.
