El Molla Reviews Plans of Natural Gas Station Expansion

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has stressed on the importance of the expansion of natural gas stations for supporting the country’s initiative to maximize vehicle conversions to run on natural gas.

This came during his follow up on the progress of this essential national initiative. The minister affirmed that this comes within the efforts aiming to achieve economic as well as sustainable development.

Additionally, El Molla highlighted Egypt’s effective partnership with bp and Eni in this regard besides the accumulated expertise of the employees who are working in the companies providing this service in addition to the state’s support.

It should be noted that there are currently 927 stations equipped to provide natural gas supply services, compared to only about 203 stations in early 2021.

Likewise, there are currently 129 conversion centers and about 500,000 cars that benefit from this civil service, about 300,000 cars of which have been fueled by natural gas during the last nine years.
