The Minister of the Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, represented Egypt in Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) 103rd meeting, held in Kuwait on December 22, discussing its 2020 draft budget, press release reported.
The meeting was headed by the Bahraini Minister of Oil, Al Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa, and was attended by petroleum ministers, heads of the delegations of the country members of the organization, and the organization’s General Secretary, Abbas Ali Al-Naqi.
The meeting’s agenda included discussing OAPEC Award Committee for Scientific Research 2018 and the assignment of the organization auditor in 2020.
The meeting also discussed new ways for the organization works, the preparation of human resources in the petroleum field, in addition to reviewing the general secretary report about its activities, the progressed studies and the international petroleum situation.
El Molla pointed out during the meeting to Egypt’s support for the OAPEC for achieving its target which will enhance the Arab cooperation in the petroleum industry as the first priority.
OAPEC assigned Ali Sebt Bin Sebt to be the General Secretary for the upcoming three years starting form 2020. Also, the organization decided to assign Algeria for heading the next session.
