El Molla Praises the Center of Excellence for Energy Transition for its Profound Contributions to the Industry

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has lauded the Center of Excellence for Energy Transition and Operational Performance for its essential role as the first strategic entity specialized in serving the oil and gas sector as well as the energy-intensive sectors in Egypt and the African continent in promoting the transition to sustainable, low-carbon energy systems.

The center’s training programs aim to qualify technical personnel in the fields of energy transformation and improving energy efficiency through specialized programs on the latest technologies, simulation programs and virtual reality, in addition to practical training on models of equipment used in industry.

This comes as the center’s services extend to implementing studies related to energy transformation, qualifying companies to obtain ISO 50001 certificates for energy management systems and evaluating the business performance of companies in terms of energy consumption rates and reducing emissions, which is done in accordance with the latest international standards and technologies.

A coalition consisting of the companies Enppi and Egyptian Projects Operation and Maintenance (EPROM) is managing the center, and the work is being carried out in cooperation with several international entities such as the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which participated in the preparatory work for establishing the center, and the Norwegian company Carbon Limits, which specializes in reducing emissions from the petroleum industry.
