On the sidelines of CERAWeek, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla participated in the ninth annual Energy in Egypt Meeting, which was organized by the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce in Houston, in partnership with Apache Corporation, one of the most important partners in the petroleum sector, the ministry said in a statement.
The meeting was in attended by the Secretary General of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) Osama Mobarez.
The minister reviewed the current role played by Egypt as a regional energy trade and circulation hub, its contribution to achieving an aspect of the security of regional supplies, and its openness to cooperation with international countries and companies, through many partnerships, foremost of which is the East Mediterranean Gas Forum, to achieve optimal utilization of energy resources.
El Molla highlighted that cooperation and integration between countries is the way to face the repercussions of the rapid changes witnessed by the global energy markets.
The minister pointed to the importance of working in parallel to achieve energy security by increasing investments in fossil fuel production to meet the needs of the world while supporting energy transition paths and reducing carbon in fossil fuel production and cooperation in implementing projects for the production of hydrogen, ammonia and green energies.
