On the sidelines of the CERAWeek Conference, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with the President of Chevron International Exploration and Production Clay Neff, discussing the latest developments of Chevron’s business in Egypt and its exploration plans to increase production at its concession areas.
Additionally, the two parties examined their cooperation to transport natural gas from the East Mediterranean’s fields and re-export it to Europe through the Egyptian liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants which supports Egypt’s as well as the East Mediterranean’s role in securing the global demand for energy.
During the meeting, El Molla affirmed his support and follow up on Chevron’s efforts in Egypt, noting that it is in process to achieve good results in the field of exploration and discovery.
El Molla also pointed to the keenness of the two sides to boost their partnership and increase the share of Chevron as a trusted partner in the Egyptian petroleum sector highlighting the agreement that was signed between them in EGYPS 2023.
For his part, Neff outlined his participation in EGYPS 2023 noting the high number of participants. He also praised the decision to rebrand the conference to the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) for its next edition.
