Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has commended the achievements of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in boosting the role of natural gas in facilitating the energy transition and emissions reduction.
The minister said that during his speech at the 7th Summit of the GECF’s Presidents and Governments Meeting. He added that the forum represents an important platform and a pioneering model for cooperation and dialogue regarding the natural gas industry, pointing out the importance of continuing joint work to achieve the common climate goals in parallel with securing the energy that the world needs.
El Molla noted that the world witnessed radical changes, stressing on the role of natural gas Radical changes at many different levels, stressing the important role of natural gas within the global energy mix as a clean fuel in achieving the United Nations sustainable development goals, meeting the growing global energy needs, and ensuring everyone’s access to reliable, sustainable, and affordable sources of energy.
He also pointed to the progress witnessed by the energy sector in Egypt, stressing that the Egyptian government is continuing economic reforms in addition to working on improving the investment climate in the country, supporting the private sector, pushing the country’s efforts towards green energy, and encouraging new and renewable energy projects.
