Egypt Oil & Gas Publication and Egypt Oil & Gas Technical Committee are proud to announce the Upstream Technical Convention, an event held under the High Patronage of H.E. Eng. Tarek El Molla, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
The event comes in line with the ministry’s Modernization Program and provides the opportunity for industry professionals from all entities—public and private—to come together under one roof to discuss the pivotal role of Egypt’s upstream sector in addressing the country’s energy and economic challenges.
The two-day event will be held at Cairo at the Sky Executive Resort on January 21st and 22nd. The event will witness the honorable participation of Minister Tarek El Molla and the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Gas Affairs and Upstream Sponsor, Eng. Mohamed Mounes; in addition to the participation of prominent figures of the Egyptian oil and gas market.
Aiming to host an environment that promotes exchanges of ideas, skills, and information, the convention is divided into the three strategic panels and four technical workshops. Panels are prepared to allow industry leaders to address sector-shaping topics and answer crucial questions in the process. Furthermore, all technical workshops will be run by respected players in the industry, aiming at updating engineers on new technologies, and giving them the skills necessary to compete in an increasingly complex business environment.
Day one will include the Modernization Program Update Panel, where industry experts will discuss the main objectives of the program, identify and address some of the challenges facing its execution, as well as its impact on the sector’s global competitiveness. The day will further witness three technical workshops: Efficiency in Operations; Impactful Exploration and Development; and Application of New Technology.
The second day will include two strategic panels: The Positioning Egypt for Growth Panel and the Young Professionals Panel, in addition to the fourth and last technical workshop, which will be focused on the growth of natural gas production.
The Upstream Technical Convention is supported by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), and counts with Wood Mackenzie as Official Research Partner.
