Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has inaugurated a lab affiliated with MSALABS during his inspection tour in the Eastern Desert.
The company is specialized in geochemical laboratory research and provides services for the mining industry by using advanced techniques for analyzing gold and basic metals and laboratory management systems.
In the same context, El Molla witnessed the signing of a protocol between the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) and ALS, which is part of the internationally accredited Australian laboratory services group.
The protocol aims for ALS Egypt to hold training courses for EMRA’s employees on sample preparation techniques every year in the company’s labs in Marsa Alam. According to the protocol, ALS will also send trainees to train workers in the company’s laboratories in Ireland and Romania, in addition to providing services for preparing all types of samples.
The minister affirmed that localizing a specialized industry in the field of mining in Egypt is a major goal of the mining sector development strategy launched by the Ministry in 2018, which opens new horizons for investment.
He pointed out that the presence of comprehensive testing laboratories to examine gold and basic metals for soil, rock, and drilling samples in Marsa Alam is one of the steps that achieve the goals of localizing the industry and improving the experiences of its employees.
“We continue to create an attractive climate for investment, support the mining industry in Egypt, and increase its returns to the national economy,” El Molla added.
