Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla commended the vital contributions of women in the petroleum sector’s achievements, particularly as they ascend to leadership roles within the industry.
These remarks came during his address at the General Trade Union for Petroleum Workers’ (GTUPW) Women’s Day celebration held at the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) headquarters.
El Molla emphasized the importance of ongoing support and development for the sector’s workforce, especially in light of the industry’s advancements and positive reputation established through the Modernization project.
Also, he asked the women to double their efforts at the current phase which needs more progress and he directed them to make a balance between their work at the GTUPW and their companies in addition to their role in their family lives.
For his part, Mohamed Gibran, the head of GTUPW, hailed the role of the minister in providing the environment that encourages and enables women of the sector to achieve more success.
Aida Mohieldin, Vice President of the General Union of Petroleum Workers for Women’s Affairs, lauded the Minister’s commitment to women’s empowerment within the oil sector. She highlighted the industry’s growing prosperity and opportunities for women, emphasizing their renewed pledge to double their efforts and contribute their innovation for the sector’s continued success.
The event also featured a documentary showcasing prominent female business leaders and rising young executives. These women expressed their gratitude for the sector’s initiatives that are propelling women’s advancement within the oil industry.
