A press release to Egypt Oil&Gas stated that Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, said that the currently implemented petroleum strategy is based on a new vision to cooperate with foreign partners and share benefits, mentioning the success achieved in Zohr Field. This came during his meeting with the members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt in the presence of the heads of the Petroleum sector companied and IOCs.
In addition, El Molla mentioned that Egypt would achieve natural gas self-sufficiency by the end of 2018. The state adapts a serious program to run an oil and natural gas industry that could achieve sustainable development and compete with the world’s leading companies and could be a regional energy hub as well, the Minister added.
Moreover, El Molla stressed on the importance of fulfilling the national demand of oil and gas, which will be achieved by developing refineries and infrastructure and updating new facilities along with developing the current ones.
