The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has awarded the first license to international companies for fueling ships in the Egyptian ports to Minerva Group, which will start providing its services in Port Said port.
The minister affirmed that the new license is the beginning of a chain of actions to maximize the added value of the Egyptian ports and the vital Suez Canal facility.
It is worth noting that the national committee assigned to establish the new system for marine fueling services, which is formed and headed by the minister, has offered international companies the chance to apply for obtaining licenses to practice their activities in Egyptian ports. This will include four licenses; two on the Red Sea and another two on the Mediterranean.
During their meeting with El Molla, Minerva Group gave a presentation of its businesses in the fields of fuel and products supply, marine fuels, and low-carbon economic solutions. El Molla stressed the importance of building successful partnerships in this field in order to achieve the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategic goals in providing specialized services and transit into the economies of sustainable operations.
The delegation of the company expressed its pleasure in obtaining the license and the cooperation with the committee referring to their awareness of the importance of Egypt and providing distinguished fueling supply. They also showed their readiness to study more investment opportunities provided by the ministry and the Egyptian market.
