Egyptian Linear Alkyl Benzene Company Assigns PSM Preparations to PetroSafe

The Egyptian Linear Alkyl benzene Company (ELAB) has assigned the Petroleum Safety & Environmental Services Company (PetroSafe) with the task of making preparations to implement process safety management (PSM) and chemical process safety measures .

This came as part of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) effort to push for applying the PSM system in all of the sector’s companies.

The preparations include providing training sessions for teams to work on analyzing gaps, applying safety procedures, assessing the effectiveness of the applied measures, in addition to preparing a review and evaluation for the success of its application after six months.

PSM is one of the most important procedures which involves the application of a variety of interrelated approaches to the management of operational risks in order to help in reduce hazardous incidents and mitigate their potential impacts.

PSM consists of several basic elements including safety culture in operations, compatibility with standard systems and codes related to process safety, training, change management systems, emergency management systems, accident investigations, and a variety of other measures that aim to reduce possible incidents.
