Egypt, Uganda Sign Energy Agreement

The Egypt Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and Ugandan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development signed an agreement to establish a 4MW solar power plant in Uganda, Egypt Oil and Gas reports.

The signing ceremony was attended by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

The two presidents also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Egypt’s Industrial Development Authority and the Uganda Investment Authority to establish and operate industrial zones.

This came as El Sisi received President Museveni, who arrived in Cairo on May 8 for a two-day visit.

El Sisi held a meeting with Museveni during which he praised the president’s role as one of the historic leaders of the African continent, along with his efforts to enhance security and stability on the continent.
