Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla gave the green light to launch the first electronic system that will manage and follow up on the circulation and distribution of butane, the ministry said in a statement.
El Molla stated that the oil and gas sector is witnessing continuous development in its production and services activities, and the expansion of the application of digital transformation in the management of petroleum activities and projects. This comes in line with the comprehensive development that Egypt is witnessing, reflecting the features of the New Republic.
Consent to launch the electronic system was granted during an inspection tour by El Molla in the butane storage, filling, and handling area in Kattameya, which is affiliated with Petrogas.
During the visit, El Molla launched the development projects in the area that supplies Greater Cairo and a number of northern Upper Egypt governorates with their needs of butane cylinders.
Digitizing the management of butane gas circulation and distribution will optimize its efficiency of supplying a vital product, which represents an essential part of every Egyptian’s daily life, explained El Molla.
