Egypt to Add 80mcf/d of Gas from Noroos

Italian Eni plans to link 80mcf/d of gas to national grid from its Nooros concession by the end of November 2016. A source with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) stated that total gas production from Nooros will increase from 850mcf/d to reach 930mcf/d by the end of November. This comes after drilling a number of development wells and adding them to the project’s production, reported Al Borsa.

Linking these wells to the national gas grid will help compensate for  natural decrease rates in local gas production, which is estimated at 600mcf annually with an average of around 50mcf per month.

In related Eni news, Egypt Oil&Gas reported that Eni had finished the drilling processes for the sixth well at Egypt’s Zohr field in the deep water offshore the Mediterranean Sea. An official with the company had stated that the well’s production tests would start late October and would take roughly 10 days to complete.
