Egypt Targets Boosting Crude Oil Production by 10,000 b/d

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is aiming to increase crude oil production by 10,000 barrels per day (b/d) by the beginning of 2019, Amwal Al Ghad reports.

The country is working on boosting the total production of crude oil and condensates to reach 670,000 b/d, supported by the recent oil discoveries.

The production is set to increase due to the development of a number of existing oil fields, in addition to the new fields that will soon be linked to production.

The ministry is also working to boost the country’s refining capacities to exceed 40 million tons per year, an EGPC source told Amwal Al Ghad in October.
