The Minister of Electricity, Mohamed Shaker discussed with the Swedish Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Niklas Johansson, cooperation between the two countries in renewable energy projects, Al Ahram reported.
The Ministry of Electricity praised Sweden as a reliable partner, especially as the Egyptian electricity sector is taking part in regional cooperation projects, with Egypt linking power grids with Jordan and Libya.
Egypt is also carrying out another 3,000-megawatt grid link project with Saudi Arabia.
Johansson confirmed the readiness of a number of institutions to provide the needed funds to finance renewable energy projects in Egypt; as well as providing technical support to the electricity sector, as Swedish companies have an experience in the Egyptian market.
